Worlds Parallel Prolouge by ~DrSurgeonGuy:iconDrSurgeonGuy:

I'm sure people have always at one point in their lives have wondered what life would be like with an evil clone, or doppleganger.

Most people I've talked to it about seriously have always said the same thing, "I don't know.". Well isn't that a boring answer? I've been thinking about the answer for a while now, not because I'm interested really, it's more out of boredom.

My friends, or atleast somewhat friends, say I always do this, ask questions no "normal" person would ever ask. After they said this I thought about it seriously, which just annoyed the heck out of my so called friends.

These people...These people are the only type I've ever met.  What's the point in having friends if they're all so stupid and uninteresting. Teachers, classmates, family, all are like that. That's why I sit alone whenever I can now, I see no point in doing otherwise.

        Humans are truly worthless beings.

Yep, starting a new short novel, or whatever you want to call it. The name's subject to change.

Enjoy~!

Hm... I wonder where you are going with this. Seems like an interesting concept. It seem like it is borderline being an awesome hook into a story, but the way you end the prologue seems so bland. Raise the risk. At least say something odd or unique that he does while he sits alone, even if it is pondering more on having an evil twin. Say he wants to make one, I don't know. Something so the reader gets more invested. I like the evil twin musing a lot though, I'd continue with that somehow. :)

I actually had trouble ending this one, and yeah, it does seem a little bland.

Though I kind of like how it ended out, it shows the main character's personality and insight than going with some kind of bizarre or surreal action such as giant exploding robots.

Yeah, I agree with razaugg. It seemed to end with sort of a cliffhanger, which is good, but does end sharply. I'm very interested in this story though. I also like how you're actually using first-person in this novel to gain insight in the evil-twin dilemma. Very cool. I'm looking forward to it!

Keep up the good work., Dr!

I like what it is because it does build characterization, but I think you should add more to the end so it doesn't seem to end on an unemotional note. Something like that might be fine in the middle of a book at the end of a chapter, but the prologue needs more.
:icondrsurgeonguy:
Huh...I never thought of the prologue like that before. I'll see what I can do.

Hmm...I think I know how I'll make the prolouge longer.

I think it's nice, and interesting. yet my logical portion of my brains say I don't have an evil twin and will never have an evil twin, the concept seems well enough to me as long as you explain how one gets an evil twin, or some other explanation. It seems rather satirical right now, I might suggest that you revise the last two paragraphs so they don't focus on people but rather the dilemma of the evil twin. You can incorporate the "humans lack imagination"(or whatever you were trying to portray by the last two paragraphs) through out the piece as a whole. Good work!

This is true, that not many people ever think about it. I think that it would make life interesting- whether one is the "good" or "evil" twin.

Looking forward to seeing more. :)
